God knows that VR in Ace Combat's multiplayer would be absolutely unplayable, for example, VR would destroy the PSM factor in the game because people need 3rd person view for that.

Notjust in VR (lots of great VR games play seated with a gamepad) but also for non-VR gaming. I resisted getting a gamepad for years, but I'm so glad I got one. Third person games (if they're not shooters) play especially really well with a gamepad, like the Assassin's Creed ones, or Batman Arkham stuff.
